Manchurian Stuffed Idli

Manchurian stuffed chinese idli is a combination of south indian food and chinese. Here I am giving a video of how to stuff manchurian ball in steamed idli and how to make lip smacking machchurian gravy to serve and enjoy with stuffed idlis.

Cooking Method :   

For Manchurian Balls                                         For Gravy -

  1 Medium size boiled grated potato              1 Tbsp Ginger Juliennes

  1/2 Cup Grated Carrot                                    1 Tbsp Chopped Garlic

  1/2 Cup Finely Chopped Cabbage                 1 Tbsp Grated Carrot

  1/2 Cup Finely Chopped Capsicum               1 Tbsp Chopped Capsicum

  1/2 Cup Spring Onions's Whites                    1/2 Cup Spring Onion Green

  1/2 Tsp Black pepper Powder                        1 Tbsp Spring Onions White

  1/2 Tsp Salt                                                       1 Tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar

  2 Tbsp Corn Flour                                             1 Tbsp Tomato Ketchup

  2 Cup Thick Idli Batter                                     1 Tbsp Soya Sauce, 1Tsp green chili

                                                                                1/2 Tsp Salt, 1Tsp RedChilySauce

                                                                                1/2 Tsp Black Pepper

                                                                                1 Tbsp Corn Flour

                                                                                1 Tbsp French Beans

Mix potato, cabbage, carrot, capsicum, onion, salt, black pepper and corn flour.

Make small lemon size ball and flatten them with palm as shown in the video.

Coat in corn flour.

Fry in hot oil on high flame.

Take them out allow to cool completely.

Add salt in idli batter.

Grease the idli mould with oil.

Fill half idli mould with idli batter.

Place a fried manchurian ball and cover it with idli batter.

Steam for 10 minutes on high and 5 minutes on low flame.

Remove from heat and allow to cool.

Demould the idlis.

For gravy heat oil in a pan.

Add onions and ginger, sauté for 1 minute.

Add green chili, capsicum, carrot, French beans, cabbage, garlic and sauté on high flame.

Add salt, black pepper, red chili paste, soya sauce, vinegar, tomato ketchup and mix well.

Add 5ooml water and bring to boil.

Add water in corn flour and mix well.

Add corn flour batter in boiling water. Stir it and cook for 5 minutes.

Add stuffed idli and give a stir.

Garnish with spring onion's greens.
