The beauty of Indian festivals is such that you can experiment and create new recipes. Here I have tried to create fusion of Kaju katli and agra ka petha which I have named as Sangam Barfi. In this agre ka petha is sandwiched in kaju katli.
Grate agre ka petha.
Add crushed cashew, cardamom powder and green colour and mix well.
Add mava in a nonstick heavy bottom pan. Roast it on low flame for 7-8
Switch off the flame and take it out from the pan.
Add 50 ml water and sugar in the same pan. Cook till the sugar dissolves
Add cashew powder and cook on low flame till it gathers in the pan.
Add roasted mava and soaked saffron and cook on low flame till it gathers. Divide
in two equal parts.
In a lined or greased tray, evenly spread one part of cashew paste.
Spread agra ka petha evenly over the first layer.
Now spread second layer of cashew paste. Spread it with greased hand.
Apply silver leaves (chandi varak). Keep aside for 2 hours.
Cut with a sharp knife in small squares.
Celebrate your festivals with homemade sweet.
