Aalu Tikki With Chhole

Aalu Tikki With Chhole is a lip smacking street food. You can prepare it at home in an easy manner with the help of this video with the few ingredients which are easily available at our kitchen pantry. You can serve in two ways which I am showing you in the video.

For Tikki-

  1 kg boiled grated potatoes

  1/2 Cup Fresh Bread Crumbs

  1/4 Cup Corn flour, 1 Tsp Salt

  1/4 Cup Desi ghee (Clarified Butter)

For Stuffing-

  1/2 Cup Boiled Chana Dal (Gram Lentil)

 1 Tsp Red Chilli Powder

1/2 Tsp salt

 1/4 Tsp Turmeric Powder

 1/2 Tsp garam masala

 1/2 Tsp Aamchur Powder (Dry mango powder)

 1/2 Tsp black salt

 1 Chopped Green chilli

 1/4 Cup fresh coriander

 1/2 inch chopped ginger

 1/4 Cup Broken cashews

 1/4 Cup raisins

 2 Tsp oil.

  Spicy Punjabi Chhole, Sweet & Sour Tamarind Chutney, Coriander Chutney.

 

HOW to Make

Heat oil in a pan. Crackle mustard seeds, add green chili & ginger.

Cook for a minute. Add raisins, cashews and stir it.

Add boiled chana dal and all spices. Cook for 2-3 minutes. Add fresh coriander.

Press it with any heavy object.

Switch off the flame and allow to cool.

Mix grated potatoes, bread crumbs, corn flour and salt with hands. Make a dough.

Potato dough should be like Shown in the video.

Take a handful dough in greased hands. Make a ball and flatten it with hands.

Stuff the stuffing in potato dough and seal it properly.

Prepare all tikkis in the same way.

Place them on a hot tava. Apply ghee and roast it from both sides on low to medium flame.

Stuffed & crispy aalu tikki is ready to serve.

Serving Ideas- No.1- Place a hot tikki in a bowl, put coriander chutney & tamarind chutney

According to your taste.

No.2 - Place a tikki in a serving bowl. Pour spicy Punjabi chhole over it. Put green chutney & tamarind chutney.
