Peanut Chikki

Peanut Chikkis are the most favoured sweet among the people in the winter season. Peanuts are rich source of protein and jaggery which contains high amount of iron. Thus making it a perfect food to strengthen the immune system in the winter season. Here is a video of showing process in step by step which is perfect for beginners.



Preparation And Cooking Time

Cooking Method :   

 250 Gram Peanuts

 250 Gram jaggery

 1 Tsp Clarified Butter / Ghee

Dry roast peanuts on low flame.

Now the peanut skin will start to loosen.

Roast till light brown marks appear on peanuts.

Transfer roasted peanuts on a paper.

Crush them with a rolling pin.

Rub with hands and remove skin from peanuts.

Transfer to a big plate and remove skin from the peanuts as shown in the video.

Add clarified butter in a pan.

Melt it on low flame and stir continuously. It will take 5-7 minutes.

For checking the right consistency of syrup, take water in a bowl, add few drops of syrup if it becomes hard and can't be broken with hands, then your syrup is ready.

Syrup is ready now.

Add roasted peanuts and mix well. Switch off the flame.

Spread on a parchment paper / butter paper or a greased plate.

Spread it with a spatula as it may be too hot.

Roll it with a greased rolling pin.

Cut with a sharp knife in square pieces.

Allow to cool for an hour. Remove from the parchment paper.

Separate the chikki into square pieces and store in an air tight container.
