Malai Matar

Malai Matar is very easy and rich in taste. It is a perfect companion with any type of Indian flat bread. Include this gravy dish in your menu and relish it.

1+1/2 Cup Fresh Peas

 1 Cup Fresh Tomato Puree

 1/2 Cup Onion+1inch ginger+2green chilli

1/2 Cup Fresh Malai

 1/2 Cup Cashew Paste

 1 Tsp Red Chilii Powder

 2 Tsp Salt

 1/4 Tsp Turmeric powder

 1 Tbsp Sugar

 Whole garam masala- 1 Bay leaf, 1 icnh cinnamon stick, 1 tsp coriander powder.

 1 Tsp Cumin seeds, 1 Tbsp 0il, 1 Tbsp Butter

 

Add salt, sugar, peas and boil for 5-7 minutes.

Immediately drain out from hot water and put in chilled water.

Heat oil and crackle cumin seeds. Add cinnamon stick and bay leaf.

Add onion-ginger-chili paste. Cook for 4-5 minutes on medium to high flame.

Add red chili powder, coriander powder, salt, turmeric powder and stir it.

Add tomato puree and cook.

Add cashew paste and cook for 10 minutes on low flame.

Add fresh malai, stir and cook for 5-7 minutes on medium flame.

Add 1/2 Cup of water and allow to cook for 10-12 minutes on low flame.

Give a good stir in intervals.

Add sugar and blanched peas and mix well.

Add 1tbsp butter and mix well. Cook for 2 minutes.

Sprinkle fresh coriander, mix gently and switch off the flame.

Creamy Malai matar is ready to eat!!
