Whole Wheat Naan

Naan is the one of the favorite Indian flat breads among us. Generally it is made with bleached flour or maida. Here I have given a video of 100% whole wheat instant naan which you can prepare in an easy manner and can eat guilt free.



Preparation And Cooking Time

Cooking Method :   

# 300gram Whole wheat flour

# 1/2 Cup curd

# 1/2 Cup milk

# 1 tbsp powdered sugar

# 1 tsp salt

# 1 tbsp clarified butter (Ghee)

# 1 tsp onion seeds

#1 Tsp dry instant yeast

Add flour, salt, sugar, and yeast in a vessel and mix well.

Add curd, milk and knead a soft dough. If needed add water.

Add 2 tsp ghee and knead it again for 4-5 minutes.

Grease the dough. Cover it and keep aside for 30-40 minutes.

The dough has been doubled in size.

Punch the dough and knead for a minute.

Take a handful dough and dust it in dry flour. Roll it in oval shape with a rolling pin.

Sprinkle onion seeds over it and roll it again.

Apply water on the backside of naan and place it on a hot tava with pressure as shown in the video.

Roast it on high flame till the big bubbles start appearing on the naan. The flame should be on high.

Now flip the tava and roast it from another side.

Remove it from tava.

As you can see that the Naan made on tava is same as made in tandoor.

Apply butter or ghee and serve hot with vegetables of your liking.
