Cone Chaat

Typical Indian Street Food "Chaat" served in a new way.. Chaat is appreciated all over India as a snack and this video will help you to make the normal Indian chaat in a cone..

Cooking Method :   

·         200g All-purpose Flour (maida)

·         1 pinch Baking Soda

·         Salt to Taste

·         1/3 cup Oil

·         1cup Puffed Rice (murmure)

·         1/2 cup finely chopped Onion

·         1/2 cup finely chopped Tomato

·         1/2 cup boiled chopped Potato

·         Finely chopped Coriander

·         1tsp Chopped Green Chili

·         1tbsp Green Chutney

·         1tbsp Tamarind Chutney

·         1/2 cup Nylon Sev

·         1/2 tsp Black Salt

·         1/2 tsp Red Chili Powder (or to taste)

·         Salt to Taste

·         Aluminum Cone Moulds

1.      Take maida in a big bowl, add salt and baking soda and mix well.

2.      Now add oil and mix it well.

3.      Knead it using water and make a soft dough.

4.      Let it rest for 10 minutes.

5.      Divide the dough into two equal parts.

6.      Flatten the dough with a rolling pin.

7.      Prick the dough with a fork.

8.      Cut 1inch thick strips of the dough with a knife.

9.      Roll the strips over the aluminuim mold.

10.  Overlap the strip with its next part and press the area where the strip is overlapping with its other part so that it is sealed properly.

11.  Seal the end with water.

12.  Make all other cone in such way.

13.  Ensure that the ends are sealed properly.

14.  Heat oil in a pan and deep fry them on low-medium high flame till golden brown.

15.  Carefully take them out of the oil.

16.  Demold them with a knife and a little twist.

17.  Fried cones are ready now.

18.  For the filling mix all the rest of ingredients one by one.

19.  Now stuff this filling in the fried cones and sprinkle some nylon sev on the top. Garnish with coriander leaves.

20.  Your cone chaat is ready.
