Instant Khaman Dhokla

Instant Microwave Khaman Dhokla is a easy and quick recipe. It can be served to family and guests. All will love it. The khaman is very soft and spongy.



Preparation And Cooking Time

Cooking Method :   

 1 and 1/2 cup fine gram flour (Besan)

2 tbsp Semolina (rava)

1 tsp salt

1/4 tsp Turmeric powder

1 tbsp oil

1 1/4 cup Water

2 tsp Sugar

1/4 tsp Soda- bi- carb

1 tbsp fruit salt

For Tempering-

- 2tbsp Oil

- 1tsp Black Mustard seeds

- 2 Green chili (deseeded)

- 1tsp Lemon Juice

- 2tsp Sugar

- 6-7 Curry Leaves

-150 ml Water

- Chopped Coriander

Add gram flour, semolina, salt, sugar, turmeric, oil, water and make a smooth batter. Make sure to add water gradually so that no lumps are formed.

Let it rest for 10 minutes.

Add the remaining water and make a thin batter.

Mix fruit salt, lemon juice and soda bi-carb together and add in the batter.

Pour it in a greased microwave safe bowl and cover it with lid and keep in microwave at 60% of the maximum temperature for 6 minutes.

Take the khaman out of the microwave and check it with a toothpick.

Allow to cool and cut in square pieces with a knife.

Heat oil in a tadka pan. Crackle mustard seeds, curry leaves, green chilli.

Add water, sugar, lemon juice and bring to boil.

Pour the prepared tempering over it and spread some chopped coriander.
