Instant Kalakand

Kalakand is a all time favorite sweet. It is famous sweet of Alwar , Rajasthan also known as milk cake. It is famous for its richness and simplicity . Making Kalakand is a very time consuming process. Therefore I am presenting the recipe of Kalakand which is very simple and can be made in little span of time.



Preparation And Cooking Time

Cooking Method :   

400g Fresh homemade Paneer (cottage cheese)

200g condensed milk

Few strands of saffron soaked in milk

1 tbsp almond flakes

1 tbsp Pistachio flakes

2 tsp clarified butter (ghee)

1/4 tsp cardamom powder

Blend paneer (cottage cheese) in a blender.

Heat ghee in a non stick pan.

Add paneer and cook it on medium high flame for 3-4 minutes.

Add condensed milk, saffron milk and cook for 6-7 minutes.

Add cardamom powder, cook again till it has a thick consistency and it starts to gather.

Set in a greased tray, press it gently. Sprinkle almond and pistachio flakes on it.

Keep aside for 1 hour

Cut in squares.
