Stuffed Masala Mathri

Mathri is the most popular and favorite tea time snack. Here I have given a twist to the common mathri prepared at home. I have stuffed the mathri with spicy and tangy masala. You can store it in an air tight container for one week and enjoy!!!

Dry Snacks

Cooking Method :   

200 gram maida

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp carom seeds

75 ml oil

1 cup gram flour (besan)

1/2 tsp garam masala

1 tsp red chili powder

1/2 tsp dry mango powder

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp cumin seeds

1 tsp oil

Add salt, carom seeds and oil in maida. Mix properly with hands.

Make soft dough using water.

Heat oil in a pan, crackle cumin seeds.

Add gram flour and roast it for 2-3 minutes on low flame.

Add red chili powder, mango powder, salt, garam masala and roast it for 6-7 minutes on low flame.

Slowly add water and cook till it forms a dough.

Roll the maida dough in a thick disc and apply some water.

Take the gram flour dough and place it on the maida disc, cover it and seal the ends properly.

Roll it gently. Prick with a fork.

Cut into thin strips with a sharp knife.

Deep fry in hot oil on low flame till light brown and crispy.

Take out the stuffed mathris.

Spicy and Tangy stuffed masala mathris are ready.
