For Kalmi vada- 1 Cup Split Bengal Gram (Chana Dal) soaked for 5-6 hours, 1 tsp Red chili Powder, 1 tsp Salt, 1 inch roughly chopped Ginger, 2-3 Green chilies.

1/4 tsp Baking Soda

1 Cup Chickpea (boiled in salted water)

1 Cup Cubed Potato (boiled)

1/2 Cup finely chopped onion

1/2 Cup Green Chutney, 1/2 Cup Tamarind Chutney

1 tsp red chili powder, 1 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp black salt

1 cup fresh beaten curd

1/2 Cup Nylon sev

In a mixure jar add soaked split bengal gram, ginger, green chilies, red chili powder and salt. Make a coarse paste from it.

Open the lid and transfer in a big bowl.

Add baking soda and mix well. Make cylindrical shape with soft hands.

Prepare all like this.

Deep fry in hot oil on medium low flame.

Cut in in 1 inch thick slices.

Deep fry in hot oil for a minute.

Take them out.

Place 7-8 kalmi vadas in a plate, add boiled chickpeas, potato cubes, onion, curd, green chutney, and tamarind chutney.

Sprinkle black salt, salt, red chili powder and nylon sev.

Spicy and tangy Kalmi Vada Chaat is ready.
